What is Privacy Mode?
Privacy Mode allows employees to temporarily pause monitoring for personal tasks during work hours. This builds trust while maintaining productivity accountability.
Using Privacy Mode
- Right-click the Monwurx icon in your system tray
- Select "Enable Privacy Mode"
- Choose duration: 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, or until manually disabled
- Click "Start Privacy Mode"
What Happens During Privacy Mode
- Screenshot capture is paused
- App usage tracking is paused
- Keyboard/mouse activity is NOT tracked
- Time shows as "Private" in reports
Visibility: Privacy Mode usage is visible to managers. Excessive use may be flagged for review.
Privacy Mode Limits
Organizations can set limits on Privacy Mode:
- Maximum duration per session
- Maximum uses per day
- Maximum total time per week
- Restricted hours (e.g., not during core hours)
Best Practices
- Use for personal calls, medical appointments, or sensitive personal tasks
- Don't abuse - managers can see frequency of use
- Return to normal mode promptly when done
- For longer breaks, use official break time instead
Alternative: For lunch breaks or scheduled off-time, monitoring automatically pauses based on your configured work hours.
